SoundPost Delivers Breakthrough Portable Classroom AV

Classroom wireless microphone with integrated audio and unique wireless projector control increases ease of use and flexibility.

Calypso Systems, a leading developer of communication technology solutions for K-12 classrooms, announced the availability of SoundPost, an innovative portable Classroom AV solution. Calypso Systems will be debuting SoundPost at the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) conference in Austin, TX from February 9th – 11th.

Designed first and foremost as an outstanding portable wireless microphone system, SoundPost integrates additional audio inputs to deliver great sounding classroom audio in a fully integrated product. Moreover, SoundPost adds unique-in-market wireless projector control directly from the teacher’s desktop. The result is a complete portable classroom AV solution that’s easy to use and requires little to no installation.

SoundPost is built around a compact yet powerful line array speaker designed to efficiently project sound throughout a classroom, without disturbing those closest to the speaker. More than simply a great desktop speaker, SoundPost boasts an integrated 32W, multi-input amplifier to easily incorporate and amplify other audio sources such as a computer or iPod. A wireless microphone receiver is built into SoundPost, and Calypso’s companion WCM-RF wireless microphone is included with every unit. Volume and mute can be controlled from a built-in rotary / push knob on the SoundPost, from the teacher microphone, or from the included Calypso SoundPostControl applet. SoundPost comes pre-configured in “full mix” mode, where the microphone channel is automatically mixed with alternate audio channels.

More than a classroom audio solution, SoundPost also delivers built-in, wireless projector control. With this unique capability, teachers can easily control projectors directly from their classroom computer for power on/off, input selection, and projector freeze and blank using the SoundPostControl web applet, included with each unit, and the wireless transmit capability of SoundPost.
