Calypso Systems Expands Sales and Marketing Department to Meet Demand

Greg Wright joins the company as vice president of sales and marketing

WOODBURY, MN, (Mar 02, 2009)

With investing in K-12 classroom technology dramatically rising, A/V control solution manufacturer Calypso Systems is experiencing tremendous growth. To meet the increased demand for 21st Century classroom technology, Calypso Systems has hired Greg Wright as vice president of sales and marketing to help the company put technology integration and control into more schools nationwide.

“Now, more than ever, schools are using technology and integrated A/V systems to enhance the learning experience,” said David H. Parish, Ph.D., president of Calypso Systems. “With the expansion of our sales and marketing team, we can get these innovative products and classroom solutions to more students and schools around the country.”

With a recent headquarters expansion and shipments of more than 1,000 ezRoom Classroom Bundles, Calypso Systems brought on Wright at a time of increasing opportunity for the company. In his position as vice president of sales and marketing, Wright will be responsible for strengthening the company’s national sales and marketing functions, and developing and overseeing the strategies, tactics and programs to maximize K-12 market opportunities for Calypso Systems.

“It is often awkward for teachers to switch between classroom technology sources and as a result the full potential of these tools is rarely realized,” said Wright. “Calypso Systems and I are committed to providing cost-effective solutions to help make these tools seamless to use together, ultimately helping students reach their maximum potential.”

Prior to joining Calypso Systems, Wright was senior vice president and general manager for the Renaissance Electronics Division of Renaissance Learning, Inc., a supplier of education technology products to the K-12 market. At Renaissance Learning, Wright successfully turned around the company’s declining hardware division by rebuilding the national sales team, growing the international market and refocusing product marketing for the AlphaSmart NEO product line. Earlier in his career, Wright held senior management positions at Harman International, Telex Communications and Northrop Grumman.

A resident of Prior Lake, Minn., Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola College in Baltimore.
