Calypso ezRoom S300 Delivers Breakthrough Low-Installation Classroom AV

Integrated classroom audio, wireless microphone and control solution drives costs down, ease of use and flexibility up.

Calypso Systems, a leading developer of communication technology solutions for K-12 classrooms, announced the availability of a new offering within its ezRoom line of integrated classroom AV solutions, the ezRoom S300.  Designed to deliver great sounding classroom audio and flexible audio visual device control, the S300 is the first ezRoom solution fully enclosed in a powered classroom speaker array, with a built-in wireless microphone.  The result is a complete classroom solution that’s easy to use and inexpensive to install, either as a free standing desktop unit or mounted to a wall.

The ezRoom S300 is built around a compact yet powerful line array speaker designed to efficiently project sound throughout a classroom, without disturbing those closest to the speaker.  More than simply a great speaker, the S300 boasts an integrated 32W, multi-input amplifier, a 3-port network switch and wireless microphone receiver.  Calypso’s WCM-RF wireless microphone is included with every unit to complete the package.

In addition to its built-in wireless microphone channel, the S300 provides two additional standard audio inputs.  Configurable in “full mix” (default) or “channel select” mode, volume, mute and channel selection is controlled from a built-in rotary / push knob or from the included Calypso encore! software. 

In addition to controlling audio, control of AV devices such as projectors or DVD players from the S300 is accomplished using encore! as well.  The S300 delivers control commands through its built-in network switch, serial port or built-in IR transmitter for wireless control.  In either case, encore! software again provides the graphical user interface.  The ezRoom S300 is also compatible with Calypso Maestro software for remote projector monitoring and control.

Lastly, the S300 can decode/encode digital streaming audio over IP, and is fully compatible with Calypso’s IP-based school-wide communications solution, Conductor.  With Conductor, the S300 provides all school bells, paging, bi-directional intercom, and emergency alerts, in addition to providing instructional audio.
