Calypso Systems is a growing, premier provider of professional audio/visual products. Calypso's primary market is K12 schools where its product portfolio of A/V amplification, connection, control, and sound field reinforcement systems help enable the 21st Century Classroom. Calypso is presently expanding its field sales force and looking for qualified regional field sales representatives in a number of locations.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Northeast Regional Field Sales Representative is responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts and/or regions. The Northeast region is a multi-state region including New York, New Jersey and New England states. S/he will manage a professional A/V dealer rep network, act as primary liaison for architectural A/V consultants, and promote products to schools directly within assigned territory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Present and sell company products and services to current and potential customers.
2. Evangelize company products to professional A/V dealers and consultants in assigned territory.
3. Conduct sales training in person and via webinar to channel sales representatives.
4. Prepare and execute territory sales plans identifying specific targets, actions, expected outcome and schedule to achieve territory goals.
5. Identify and participate in key educational technology tradeshows and events in territory.
6. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field and marketing activity.
7. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
8. Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales quotations.
9. Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
10. Identify customer concerns and collaborate with internal resources as necessary to resolve.
11. Prepare a variety of status reports, including lead and opportunity generation activity, sales closings, territory forecast, and adherence to goals.
12. Communicate new product opportunities, special developments, information, and/or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
13. Coordinate with inside sales staff as required to close sales.
14. Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participate in marketing events such as national seminars, trade shows, and other events as required.
2. Follow-up for collection of payment.
3. Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
4. Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
2. Proficiency in arithmetic skills required.
3. Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years field sales experience required.
4. Direct sales experience with educational technology used in K12 schools required.
5. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
6. Work requires significant travel to current and potential customers.
7. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and frequent overnight travel.
8. Candidates based within the territory are preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires significant local and overnight travel and may require weekend and/or evening work.
